Henry “Hank” Wilson gained his angel wings on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at home under the care of Bluegrass Hospice after a brief illness. He was born on March 18, 1936, to the late Joe and Adeline Wilson. Hank retired from the Pine Mountain State Park Maintenance system. He believed I the Primitive Baptist Faith and Doctrine and was a past member of the Bell Masonic Lodge #691.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Wilson and Luke Wilson, and grandson, Tyler Collins.
Hank is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ruth Dorton Wilson of Pineville; children, Shelia and Chuck Rowsey of Lexington, TN, Kelly Combs of Goshen, OH, Eld. Ricky and Pennie Dorton of Pineville, Rebecca and Frankie Nelson of Pineville, and Donna and Robin Collins of Middlesboro; siblings, Zella Hunley of Balkan, Bertha Wright of Balkan, Charlie and Rosemary Wilson of Loveland, OH, and Ken and Lois Wilson of Balkan; grandchildren, Kacy and Jared Seratt, Holly and Rick Snyder, Scottie and Laura Dorton, Heather and William Smith, Chase Nelson, Ryan and Becky Collins, and Blake and Amber Collins; great-grandchildren, Talan Sarett, Alyssa Seratt, Grayson Snyder, Kendra Tule, Taylor Tule, Coty Combs, Emma Dorton, Reagan Dorton, Cassie Smith, Trinitie Smith, Felix Collins, Amelia Collins, Alana Collins, and Ambrose Collins; best buddy, Vickie Sue Jackson; special friends, Henry Miracle and Kenneth Miracle; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the Bluegrass Hospice for their excellent care and support and compassion.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Powell Valley Primitive Baptist Association Building on Laurel Hill with Elder Stacy Risner and Elder Ricky Dorton presiding. Burial will follow in the John Jackson Cemetery on Laurel Hill. Pallbearers Robin Collins, Blake Collins, Ryan Collins, Scottie Dorton, Eric Langford, Chase Nelson, and Charles Rowsey.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Powell Valley Primitive Baptist Association Building on Laurel Hill.
