Henry Lawson

Henry Dwight Lawson, 69 of Stoney Fork, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. He was born in Kettle Island on June 29, 1957, a son of the late Dillard and Mattie Elliott Lawson. Henry was a believer in the Baptist Faith and a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He loved his family with his whole heart and enjoyed being outdoors. He had been a coal miner for 38 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Debbie Jean Lawson; son-in-law, Boyd Goodin, III; and brothers, Irvin E Lawson and wife, Phronia, and James Lawson.

Henry is survived by his wife of 21 years, Dolly Ann Helton Lawson; children, Ashley Goodin, Michael Lawson and wife, Sabrina, and Tiffany Caldwell and husband, Cheston; grandchildren, Dalton Boyd Goodin, Shawn Conner Goodin, Madalynn Lawson, Ellie Caldwell, and Gracelynn Lawson; brothers, Nick Lawson and wife, Diane, and Harold Lawson and wife, Theresa; sisters, Betty Duncan and Elizabeth Ann Leath; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Dalton Payne, Rev. Richard Asher, and Rev. Marty Jackson presiding. Music will be provided by his church family. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Michael Lawson, Dalton Goodin, Shawn Goodin, Jace Morgan, Riley Williams, Elb Helton, and Cheston Caldwell.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Lawson Family.
