Henry Jefferson, Jr., 95 of Straight Creek, Kentucky, passed away on December 2, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of Emma Parrot Jefferson and Henry Jefferson, Sr. Henry Jefferson was born on November 30, 1928, in Straight Creek, Kentucky. Henry Jefferson served in the United States Army during World War II and received an honorable discharge. Henry traveled the world while serving in the military. Afterwards, he lived and worked in several different states and cities. Yet, he always considered the family homestead in Straight Creek to be his true home.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Emma Parrot and Henry Jefferson, Sr. In addition to his death, he was preceded by his sons, Roy Jefferson and Carlos Jefferson, and one daughter, Wanda Jefferson Davis. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Jefferson, Robert Jefferson, and Cephas Jefferson.
Henry Jefferson was married to Elsie Pursiful Jefferson for 26 years and shared one child, Jennifer Jefferson who blessed him with 2 grandchildren, Michael Jefferson Talley Esq. and Jennifer Sharday Talley, and he had three stepchildren, Austin, Deborah, and James Drake.
Henry Jefferson is survived by three children with the late Christine Ware Jefferson, Sandra Jefferson Lindsay, Atlanta Georgia, Margaret Jefferson, Atlanta Georgia, and Henry Jefferson III, New York. Who also blessed him with 17 grandchildren, Keshia, Jeffrey, Shakenia, Ebony, Taiesha, Baron, Shaneequa (deceased), Karriem, Mara-Oneeika, Najib (deceased), Carlos, Micheal C., Akimi, Kamaris, Tanea, Jameela, Caray (deceased); 32 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-great-grandchild. He has a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, who all loved him dearly. He is also survived by his loving sister, Marie Jefferson Ferguson, Straight Creek, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2023, with Pastor Michael Washington presiding. Burial will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville.
