Henry Clay Howard Jr., a cherished member of the Pineville, KY community, passed away on June 7, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on May 2, 1963, to Henry and Lola Howard, Clay's life was a testament to service, love, and unyielding dedication to those around him.
Clay is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lola Howard. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, survived by his father, Henry Clay Howard; lifelong companion, Ardith Howard; his children, Megan Mayer (Steven), Bridgett Chowning (Luke), and John Avery Bailey; and his adored grandchildren, Luke Miracle and Maggie Mayer. He is also survived by his siblings, James Howard (Melissa), Jill Reams (Steve), John Howard, Doug Howard (Brandi), and Becky Howard, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A proud Sgt. in the Kentucky National Guard and a dedicated member of the Pineville Police Department, Clay's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to serving his community. His genuine desire to help others left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Whether it was through his professional duties or his everyday interactions, Clay's compassion and dedication shone brightly.
In his later years, Clay embraced one of his most cherished roles - being a loving "Poppy" to his grandchildren, Luke and Maggie. His joy in this role was evident to all who knew him, and his bond with his grandchildren brought immense happiness to his life.
Clay was a member of First Baptist Church and a steadfast believer in the Christian faith. His spiritual journey and faith were central to his life, providing him with strength and guidance.
Clay's impact on the lives of those who knew him is immeasurable. He was a beacon of kindness, a pillar of strength, and a source of unwavering support. His legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to inspire and uplift all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Services will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 12 Noon at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Anglin.
The music will be by Ryan and Heidi Greer. Burial will follow in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery with military honors by the National Guard.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, which is honored to serve the Howard Family.
