Helen Joy Hendrickson

Helen Joy Hendrickson, of Pineville, KY went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the age of 76. Helen was born in Four Mile on March 03, 1941, to William Ernest (Bill) Hendrickson and Thelma Gambrel Hendrickson. Helen was a graduate of Lone Jack High School and earned her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from the Fort Sanders School of Nursing in Knoxville, TN. Helen worked faithfully for many years at the Pineville Community Hospital and Barbourville Hospital. Nursing was always a passion of Helen's. She was a devoted care giver to both patients, as well as her mother and father. Helen took great pride in wearing her crisp white uniform and cap and her freshly polished shoes. Helen had a strong faith in God and was a member of West Pineville Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Thelma Hendrickson. Helen is survived by her brother, Bobby Ray Hendrickson, Sr. and wife, Kate; niece, Robin Hendrickson Smith and husband, Aubrey of Amarillo, TX; nephew, Bobby Hendrickson, Jr.; great-nieces, Brittany Smith Altman and husband, Andrew of Amarillo, TX and Madison Nicole Hendrickson of Elizabethtown, KY; great-nephews, Matthew Blake Hendrickson of Elizabethtown,KY, William Brandon Smith of Houston, TX, Tyler Lyndol Smith of Amarillo, TX and Caden Charles Hendrickson of Somerset, KY and a great-great-nephew, Luke Samuel Altman of Amarillo, TX. Thank you to the employees from Amedisys Home Health and Dr. Jerry Woolum and the nursing staff at Pineville Community Hospital for their excellent service. A special thank you to her nephew, Bobby for his loving and devoted care for 'Hines.' Family will receive friends from 5 - 7 PM on Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville. A Celebration of Her life will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Billy Brittian officiating. Private burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Pineville Baptist Church., 320 Fifth St. Pineville, KY 40977, in Helen's memory.
