Helen Brock

Our precious and selfless mother, Helen Brock, age 94 gained her Angel Wings on Friday, June 6, 2025, at her home in Stoney Fork, Kentucky. She was born in Beverly, Kentucky, on May 12, 1931, the daughter of the late Ardill and Dora Lawson. Helen believed in the Pentecostal Faith. Helen was a devoted and loving wife and mother of eleven children, eight boys and three girls. She was a grandmother of thirty-two, great-grandmother of thirty-eight, great-great-grandmother of one.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Harlan Brock;, sons, Monroe “June” Brock, Arlie Brock, and Charles Ray Brock; daughter, Wilma Collett; grandsons, Joseph Brock and Sam Brock; granddaughter, Tiffany Smith; son-in-law, Gene Smith; daughter-in-law, Brenda Brock; brothers, Robert Lawson, Leon Lawson, Albert Lawson, RD Lawson, and Wilk Wilson; and sisters, Hazel Helton, Gracie Lawson, and Viola Helton.


Helen is survived by her sons, Earl Dean Brock, Tillman and Sheila Brock, Irvin Brock, Harold and Marsha Brock, and Everett Doyle and Donna Brock; daughters, Harlene Smith and Gail and Tony Brock; brother, David Lawson, her baby brother; sisters, Bessie Neal and Martha Mae Helton; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.


Helen was a sharp, witty, humorous, and clever woman. She was the best mother and homemaker who loved to sew and cook. She was an inventive crafter and loved her family and friends dearly, she will be missed.


The Brock Family expresses deep gratitude and thankfulness to each and every person for all their help and guidance during the last days of her life. A special thanks to Holly Brock, moms Baby Granddaughter, for stepping up and helping make her grandmother as happy and comfortable as she possibly could in her last days.


Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at the Crockett Saylor Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Demus Couch, Rev. Dalton Payne, and Rev. Richard Asher presiding. Music will be provided by Demus Couch and the Church Family. Burial will follow at the Brock Cemetery in Stoney Fork with family and friends serving as pallbearers.


The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville and after 8:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Crockett Saylor Pentecostal Holiness Church.
