Hazel Mae Mayes Heck passed over to be with the Lord on February 3, 2007 at Glenn Allen, Virginia. She was a charter member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Speedwell, Tennessee where she was active for most of her life.

Born on June 8, 1915, she was 91 years old. Her husband of 64 years, Nathaniel C. Heck, her parents, James and Hattie Mayes, three brothers, Clyde, Curtis and Clayton, and sisters, Gladys Robertson and Cleo Poteet preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter Una H. Wright and son - in - law Rev. Lowell Wright; of Mineral, Virginia; two grandsons; Kevin L. Wright and his wife ElizaBeth of McClean, Virginia, Troy N. Wright and his wife Erika of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Five great grand sons: Pierce and Joseph Wright of McClean, Virginia and Luke, Andrew and Jacob Wright of Fredericksburg, Virginia. She has two surviving sisters: Mrs. Edith Tinnel and Joyce Bennett and her husband Rev. Wm. C. Bennett all of Maryville, Tennessee. Surviving also are brothers in law and sisters in law: Mr. Frank Heck, Mrs. Clayton Heck, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Hall, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Heck, Mr. and Mrs. Olen Heck and Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Heck. She was loved by and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Reception of friends will be at Reece Funeral Home from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007 followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Lowell Wright and Rev. Lynn Ray will preside at the funeral and Rev. Bill Bennett and Rev. Lowell Wright at the graveside services. Music by Kevin Wright, Troy Wright, ElizaBeth Wright and Pierce Wright. Burial will then be at Greasy Hollow Cemetery. Pallbearers - Mark Bennett, Danny Bennett, Earl Robertson, Alan Mayes, Arnold Poteet, Tommy Poteet, Vic McClanhan and Olen Ray Heck. Honorary pallbearers - Nephews, nephews-in-law, John Treadway and Steve Schmick.
