Haynes L. Chumley

Haynes L. Chumley of Harrogate, TN, went to be with his Lord June 9, 2015. He was born April 3, 1924, son of Deller Bussell Chumley and Weems Chumley.

Preceded in death by mother and father, Deller and Weems Chumley; 10 brothers, Lewis, Otis, Estel, Woodrow, Henley, John, Harley, Clyde, Fred, and George Chumley; 2 sisters, Agnes Gordon and Minnie Powell.

Surviving family members; Wife, Bessie Chumley; sister, Hassie Jean Lay of Virginia Beach, VA; children, Patty Chumley Smith Russell, Dennis (Katie) Chumley, Danny (Deborah) Chumley; grandchildren, Bobby (Heather) Smith, Kathy (Bob) Butcher, Griffin (Gina) Chumley, Graham (Paige) Chumley, Daniel Chumley, Candice Chumley; great grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Ashley Lambert, Gabby Chumley, Grayson Chumley, Syler Chumley, Hayes Chumley, Hylan Chumley.

Haynes married the love of his life and devoted wife on August 28, 1942, being married 72 years. He was deacon at Gap Creek Church for 63 years, and song leader for 40 years. He worked hard for the Lord and his family. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.

Visitation from 4 - 6 Friday, June 12, 2015 with funeral at 6pm at Gap Creek Church with Rev. Rodney Coe, Terry England, and Anthony Mountain officiating. Graveside 11 AM Saturday at Chumley Cemetery.
