Hassie L. Mayes, age 88, of speedwell passed away October 19, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents Byrd and Kate (Parrott) Price; former husband Carl Mayes; brother: J.B. Price; sister & brother-in-law: Nola & Lonnie Smith; brother-in-law, Hubert Marsee; and half sisters, Maggie Fortner and Helen Turner.

Funeral services will be 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Valley Chapel with Ronald Lambert officiating. Music by Linda Evans and Karen Mundy. Graveside service 11 a.m., Wednesday in the Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers- Daniel Mayes, Richard Mayes, Robbie Proffitt, Roland Compton, Donald Mayes and Wayne Mayes. Honorary pallbearers - Ulis Price and Charlie Daniels.
