Gwendolyn R. Overton, 92, of Calvin went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Hances Creek on May 1, 1918 a daughter of the late John L. and Edna Hoskins Davis. Gwen was a devoted member of the Primitive Baptist Church and had worked in several positions including, the Kentucky Utility Complaint Department and Robbins Grocery. She also had operated a Thrift Store in Pineville and had been a 4-H leader. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford Robbins and Frank Overton, sons, Charles, Frederick and Donald Robbins, daughter-in-law, Peggy Robbins,step-son, Frank Jr. Overton, great-grandson, Jeremy Kirkland and brothers and sisters, Clifford Davis, Lester Davis, Clarence Davis, Nellie Jackson, Georgia Mink and Vivian Wilson. Survivors include her grandchildren, Teresa Kirkland and husband, Weldon, Lisa Fogus and husband, Russell, Eddie Robbins and wife, Karen, Jenny Robbins McGinn and Missy Cordes and husband, James; great-grandchildren, Jason Robbins, Matthew Kirkland and wife, Sarah, Kendra Overton and husband, Jason, McKenzie McGinn, Jacob Cordes and Gabriel Cordes; great-great-grandchildren, Brennan Warfield, Jaylen Overton and Kenley Overton; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Robbins, brothers, Milford and Lillian Davis of California and Leon and Gerry Davis of Ohio; special caregivers, Mildred, Ginny, Peggy and Rebecca and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
