Goldia Mae Francis, 89, of Russells Point, OH, passed away Saturday morning, March 13, 2010, at her home. She was born on September 29, 1920, in Langley, KY, to the late Allen & Mary Ann Lafferty Ratliff. On May 24, 1941, she married E.L. Francis in Maytown, KY, and he preceded her in death after 54 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by a son: Luther Gene Francis, grandson: Michael Halbert, 10 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by nine children: Pat (Charlene) Francis, Russells Point, OH, Don (Crystal) Francis, Sidney, OH, James (Connie) Francis, Lewistown, OH, Edgle (Mary Lou) Francis, Sidney, OH, Martha Gullett, Russell Point, OH, Linda (Rick) Kirkpatrick, Russell Point, OH, Susan (Fred) Vagedes, Coldwater, OH, and Sally (Jim) Page, Bellefontaine, OH, 24 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, four sisters: Myrtle Ratliff, Minnie, KY, Lula Bradley, Drift, KY, Sidney Ratliff, Drift, KY, and Shirley Amburgy, Louisa, KY, one brother: Edgel (Joan) Ratliff, Ypsilanti, MI, and many nieces and nephews. Goldia was a graduate of Maytown High School, Maytown, KY. She was a member of Rumley Baptist Church, Anna, OH. She retired from Holloway Sportwear, Jackson Center, OH in 1982. She enjoyed spending her time with her children and grandchildren, crocheting and reading. Pastor Greg Haisley will conduct funeral services at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview with visitation from 4-7 p.m. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 19, 2010 in Bethel Cemetery, Tazwell, TN.
