Gladys Olivia Yoakum-Beeler, age 88, of Middlesboro, Kentucky, formerly of Jamestown, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Born in Claiborne County, Tennessee, to the late Fred and Olif Azzle Yoakum, Sr., on July 8, 1938, Gladys devoted her life to being a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. Of the Baptist faith, Gladys was a retired seamstress who loved quilting, sitting on her front porch watching sunsets, driving fast, peppermint candy and photography. Photography was one of her greatest passions because she loved making and holding on to the memories with her family, especially her beloved son, Billy. Gladys and her unforgettable “firecracker” personality will forever be missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, Harold Beeler; one son, Billy Beeler; two brothers, Johnny Yoakum and Fred H. Yoakum, Jr.; two sisters, Juanita Rutherford and Evelyn Ruth Martin; and beloved yorkie, Chico.
Survivors include one brother, J.C. Yoakum; special nephew, Ron Rutherford; special niece, Alice (David) Ward; one great niece, Jennifer Trigg; one great- great nephew and “best friend”, Curtis “Doobie” Saylor, Jr.; and a host of many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services are pending at this time.
