Gladys Russell

Gladys (Granny) Russell, age 90, of Speedwell, TN, was born September 1, 1916 and passed away September 15, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church.

Gladys is preceeded in death by her father & mother, Benton and Myrtie McCreary; husband, Walter (Balky) Russell; sons, James Russell, Walter Moonie Russell and two infant sons; daughters Bobbie Myers and Mary Ann Russell; brother Silas McCreary; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Richard & Beulah Evans and Charlie & Beatrice Goins; two son-in-laws, Bill Graves and Paul Keck; nephew, Dickie Evans.

Survivors include sons & wives:

Harrison & Opal Russell, Eddie & Charlette Russell, and Milton & Wanda Russell all of Speedwell.

daughters and son-in law; Nancy & Hueston Jessie of Speedwell

daughters: Katherine Keck of Sevierville, and Betty Graves of Maynardville.

Avery special daughter-in-law, Sharon Russell, and son-in-law Cole Myers both of Speedwell.

18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.

Special friends of the family Junior & Joan Webb, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 19 at 1:30 pm at Reece Valley Chaple in Harrogate. Reverends J.C. Monday and Jimmy Branscomb will preside. Music provided by singers of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Ausmus Cemetery in Speedwell.

Pallbearers will be nephews Johnny Evans, Steve Evans, Charles Evans, Gary Evans, Roger Evans and Herman Maigret.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. James Farris, Dr. Burgin Wood, Will Bunch, Bill Sowder, and Junior Webb.
