Gertrude Sharp Wilder, 94 of Clear Creek, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Davisburg, Kentucky on December 20, 1928, and was the eldest child of the late Chester and Cora Gibson Sharp. Gertrude had been a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Oscar Wilder; her daughter and son-in-law, Inez and Lester Miracle; her brother, Caleb Sharp; and her sisters, Loretta Cawood and Hazel Adams.
She was the loving mother of eight children, Larry and Brenda Wilder, Raymond and Louise Wilder, Doug and Teresa Wilder, Phyllis and Virgil Neal, the late Inez and Lester Miracle, Carol Sue and Cecil Smith, Gary and Melissa Wilder, and Elmer and Shannon Wilder, all of Clear Creek. She was a wonderful grandmother to 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Alan and Velma Sharp of St. Marys, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion in caring for Gertrude.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville with Rev. Wm. Terrell Gibson presiding. Music will be provided by the Thompson Family. Burial will follow at the Smith Hill Cemetery in Clear Creek with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
