Geraldine Smith Beverly

Geraldine Smith Beverly, 63, of Arjay, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Born on September 17, 1954 in Pineville, Ky, she was the daughter of the late Riley Smith, and Virgie Hensley Smith, who survives. Geraldine was a faithful member of the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church and had worked at Cumberland River Comprehensive Care Center. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Rev. Melvin Beverly, a grandchild, brother, Jimmy Smith, and father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Delphia Beverly. Survivors include her sons, Randall Beverly and wife, Elizabeth, and Toby Beverly all of Arjay; grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah, and Emily Beverly, which she helped raise as her own, and Danielle, Peyton and Landon Beverly; her mother, Virgie Hensley; sisters, Sheila and Lonnie Lewis and Peggy Hoskins; brother, Daril and Angie Hensley; very special friend whom she considered a daughter, Aleisha Lewis and husband, Steve; her two faithful friends, Virginia Saylor and Marlene Smallwood; her brothers and sisters in law; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 7, at 2:00 PM at the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church with Rev. James Roark, Rev. Gary Wagner and Rev. Phillip Jackson. Music will be by church family and friends. Burial will follow in the Beverly Family Cemetery at Blanche with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 6:00 PM, and through Monday, until funeral hour on Tuesday at the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church.
