Georgette Carnes McGeorge, 79, of Fourmile, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at The Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corbin. Georgette was born on December 5, 1945, to the late Archie and Troy Grubb Carnes. Georgette had worked as a secretary in the medical field for many years. Georgette was a very active member of the Riverside Baptist Church and was active with WMU. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club. She loved to cook and baked amazing cakes. She loved her children very much. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” McGeorge, brothers Paul and Oscar Carnes, aunts, Goldie Carnes and Florence Davis.
She is survived by her daughters; April Golden (John), and Amy McGeorge (Derek Hovland). Sister Roberta Carnes. Special nieces Jamie Jones and Sara Hamby, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Middlesboro, with Rev. Ray Spicer officiating. Music will be provided by GK Vanbever. Friends and Family will meet at the mausoleum for the graveside service. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arnett and Steele Funeral Home in Pineville.
