George Albert Phipps

George Albert Phipps, 70 of Clear Creek went home to be with the Lord on Sunday February 18, 2018. He had worked as a heavy equipment operator at East Over Mining and Browning Construction for several years until he became disabled. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Marie Phipps; brother, Ray Phipps, sisters, Vandetta Charles and Ethel Brock; father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Georgia Brock; son-in-law, Clifford Jones, Jr. George is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patsy Brock Phipps; children, Leonard and Vicky Phipps, Scotty Phipps, Tammy Jones and Melissa and James Miller; grandchildren, Lyndsey and McKinsey Phipps and Makaylyn Miller; sisters, Geneva and Reed Brock, Evelyn Howard, Barbara and Doug Laws and Amanda Helton; brothers, Nelson and Loraine Phipps, Herbert, Jr. and Judy Phipps, Jesse and Cuba Phipps, Frank Phipps and Jerry Phipps; sister-in-law, Lois Phipps; brother-in-law, Jim Charles; step-mother, Helen Phipps and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will sorely morn his passing. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Murphy Buell and Rev. W. Terrell Gibson. Music will be by Toby Beverly, Tiffany and Stephanie Murphy and Jeff Merida. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery in Pineville. Pallbearers will be, Leonard Phipps, Scotty Phipps, Danny Wilder, Brandon Wilder, Bobby Brock, Eddie Kirkland, Trent Wilder and Weldon Kirkland. Special thanks to Dr. Madhan Mohan, Eleanor Liford and their staff. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Phipps Family. .
