George Robert Frazier, age 69, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Pineville Community Health Center in Pineville, Kentucky. He was born on April 21, 1954, to the late Charlie and Mary Ellen (Laws) Frazier in Straight Creek, Kentucky. He had seven brothers and two sisters.
He was passionate about gardening, and he loved being at home in Straight Creek, Kentucky more than anything in this world. You couldn't take the mountains out of him. A country boy through and through and he loved being outside in his garden. He also liked to make jokes about how handsome he was and never failed to make everyone laugh as he was playfully preening about his looks.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry (Howard) Frazier of Tazewell, Tennessee; two daughters, Crystal (Frazier) Lawson of Tazewell, Tennessee, and Amy (Frazier) Mayes of Middlesboro, Kentucky. He also has two of the best sons-in-law a father could ask for his daughters, James Lawson, Jr of Tazewell, Tennessee, and Mitchell Mayes, Jr of Middlesboro, Kentucky. He has three beautiful granddaughters, Heather Lawson, Kaleigh Lawson, and Isabella Mayes; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Lawson. He bragged about his grandbabies every chance he could get. He was a very proud grandfather. He has two surviving brothers, Ricky Frazier of Arjay, Kentucky and Frank Frazier of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and very special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary Ellen Frazier; son, Robert Dewayne Frazier; brothers, Charles Frazier, Dallas Frazier, Earl Dean Frazier, Terry Frazier, and Jerry Frazier; sisters, Willie Etta Greggs and Judy Ann Carroll; and a very special nephew, David Wayne Wilson, Jr.
Cremation arrangements will be made by Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, Kentucky.
