Gene Smith

Gene Smith, 72 of Stoney Fork, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at his home. He was born in Pineville, Kentucky on June 23, 1949, a son of the late Roscoe and Helen Mink Smith. He was of the Pentecostal Faith and had been a coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany J. Smith; brothers, James Smith, J.C. Smith, MacArthur Smith, Lester Smith and Stanley Smith; and sister, Ethel Mae Smith. Gene is survived by his wife of 42 years, Harlene Brock Smith; children, Steven J. and Rashell Smith of Georgetown, Kentucky, Steven G. Smith of Harlan, Kentucky, and Melissa and Tim Johnson of Miracle, Kentucky; grandchildren, Tristan Johnson, Braydon M. Smith, and Bryleigh L. Smith; sister, Carolyn Collett of Salyersville, Kentucky; special niece, Helen Blanton; special great-niece, Makenzie Blanton; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Asher presiding. Music will be by Marissa Brock and Sheila Saylor. Burial will be in the Brock Family Cemetery on Bell Branch Road in Stoney Fork. Pallbearers will be Steve Smith, Braydon Smith, Jonathan Brock, Doyle Brock, Kevin Emery, and Donald Laws. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Smith Family.
