Freda May Harris

Freda May Harris, 65, of Pineville, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born on July8, 1949 to the late McCoy and Bessie Asher Thompson. Freda attended Page Elementary School, Bell County High School and Lone Jack High School. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a resident for many years at Generation Center, Middlesboro and Mountain View Nursing and Rehab Center, Pineville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleston Harris, whom she married on Feb. 1, 1980; a son, Jody Allen Thompson, brother, Clifford Thompson and sister, Norma Hoskins, half-sisters, Madeline Thompson; Nevada Greer; Zella Yoakum; Opal Johns and Lorene Pratt. Freda is survived by a son, Cliston Ray Harris, brother, Almon Thompson of Carlisle, OH; a sister, Alice (James) Christopher of Findlay, OH; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She also has a special friend at Mountain View Nursing Home that she calls, Mommy, her name is Mary. Special thanks to the staff at Mountain View and Generations for all the excellent care she received during her stay there these past years. Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Clayton Barton, Rev. Jimmy Partin and Rev. Troy Hoskins. Music will be by LaHonia Barton and Shirley Partin. Burial will be in God's Field Cemetery at Pittman's Creek. Pallbearers will be Devin Hoskins, Jared Hoskins, Troy Hoskins, Jimmy Partin, Glen Hoskins and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Partin and Jim Christopher. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Harris.
