Fred Ernest Lefevers

Fred Ernest Lefevers, 90, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at his home. He was born in Kettle Island on March 11, 1927 a son of the late Charlie and Mattie Nunn Lefevers. He was of the Baptist Faith and he owned and operated Lefever's Trucking. He had served in the US Army in both World War II and the Korean War serving in the Chosin Reservoir where he earned a Bronze Star. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Gene Lefevers; sisters and brothers, Pauline Bennett, Bonnie Elliott, Mary Helen Elliott, Frances Lee Defevers, Charles Reed Lefevers and Sonny Lefevers. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Edith Cox Lefevers; children and their spouses, Fred Ernest, Jr. and Virginia Lefevers, Samantha and Greg Wilson, Mary Margaret and Buddy Bishop; grandchildren, Anita L. Barton and Giovanni, Lindsay Bishop, Samantha Bishop and Chasity Wilson; great-grandchildren, Alexis Barton and Alexander Barton; brother and sisters, Willie Hoskins, Margaret and Robert Brock and Barbara Burnette; special family friend, Mary Ann Miller and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. AT 11:00 AM a Funeral Procession will lead family and friends to the Graveside services at the Lefevers Family Cemetery at Kettle Island with Rev. James Polly. Burial will follow the services with Military Honors by the Harlan Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Greg Wilson, Buddy Bishop, Giovanni Barton, Tyler Partin, Mike Lefevers and Jimmy Jones. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 - 11 AM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Lefevers Family.
