Fred "Kojack" Foister

Fred Foister, known as “Kojack,” age 73, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center, Hazard, KY. He was born in Fourmile on October 3, 1948, a son of the late Millard and Sudie Smith Foister. He was an active member at the Arjay Baptist Church and had been a truck driver for H & N Trucking for many years. Fred was a wonderful husband and father and held his family as most important after His Lord and Savior, God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brandy Carnes; brothers and sisters, Viola Goodin, Jack Foister, Dorothy Allen, Helen Walker, Sammy Foister, Jewell O’Quinn, Katherine Miller, Randle Lee Foister, Jess Foister and Frank Foister. Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Saylor Foister; daughters, Cerina Foister and Jason “Jake”, and Tiffany Creech and Denny; grandchildren, Mary Mackinsey Smith and Sabrina, Hannah Witt, Brittany Carnes, Cody Carnes and Alex, Austin Carnes and Willis, Adleigh Creech, Isaiah Creech, and Jordan Creech; great-grandchildren, Greyson Smith, Bryan Edward Carnes, Aubrey Kate Carnes and Colton River Carnes; brother, Jimmy Foister; sister, Terry Blevins and Ron, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A Special thank you to the Arjay Baptist Church volunteers that supplied a ramp to the Foister home to assist Fred in going in and out of the house. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. A.Y. Mills and Mr. Lee Lyons. Burial will follow in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens in Pineville. Pallbearers will be Trey Harris, Jason Rose, Cody Carnes, Matthew Blevins, Ryan Blevins, Kevin Davis, and Timmy Foister. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jerry Woolum, Herman Caldwell, Austin Carnes, Jimmy Foister, Jerry O’Quinn and Ron Blevins. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:oo PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Foister Family.
