Fred Carver, 73, of Pineville, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. He was born in Pineville on March 21, 1943, a son of the late Virgil and Mary Wolfenbarger Washam. He was a retired truck driver with Chevron Oil Co. A deeply religious man, he served as a former deacon of Newtown Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman. He was always eager to help those in need, whether helping to rebuild cars or repair homes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Mary Hendrickson Carver, son Marty Good, sister Goldie McNamara and brother Billy Washam. Survivors include his daughters, Autumn (Alec) Lloyd and April (Bobby) Floyd, sisters and brother, Connie Smith, Carolyn Washam and Clayton Washam, grandchildren William Quinones, Jeffrey Good, Katherine Lloyd, Helen Lloyd, Erin Lloyd and Dartagnon Floyd, a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved very much and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Wallsend Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Special thanks to Dr. Green, Dr. Moore and Dr. Thomas, Smokey Mountain Hospice.
