Florence Philpot Simpson

Florence Philpot Simpson, 85, of Pineville, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Saint Joseph London. She was born in Possum Hollow, Knox County, KY on January 16, 1932,a daughter of the late Taylor and Nancy Collins Philpot. She had been a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Simpson, brothers and sister, Ed Philpot, Andrew Philpot, Pierce Philpot and Bertha Barnett. Survivors include her children, Jesse Simpson, Donnie Simpson, Paul Simpson, Brenda Goodin, Joe Simpson and Steve Simpson; grandchildren, Wendy, Katie, Pamela, Michelle, Mark, Tara, Scottie, Ashley, Rebecca, Joshua, Kimberly, Danielle, Florence, Amanda, Kelly, Emily, Billy Joe, Steve, Jr., Matthew, Angel and Andrew; a host of great-grandchildren, sisters, Bobbie Lou Merida, Mae West and Hazel Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Arthur Jackson. Music will be by Barbara McDonald. Burial will be in the Simpson Cemetery at Big Creek in Knox County with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Simpson Family.
