Florence Roe 'Pokie' Wilson Bush, died on Saturday, June 9, 2012. She was born in Pineville on December 25, 1918, the fifth of six children of the late Dr. Edward S. and Ella Tyree Wilson. Florence was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pineville. She was a graduate of Georgetown College and received her Master's degree from Union College. Mrs. Bush had been a teacher at the Bell County School System and had retired from Pineville Independent School System after over 25 years of teaching. She served on the Pineville Library Board for many years, was a member of the DAR, and was known locally for her wonderful poems and her painting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bush, brothers and sisters, Gypsy V. (Charles) Spradley, Edward S. (Martha) Wilson, MD, Tyree (Kay) Wilson, Marion (Gerry) Wilson and Ella Rae (Victor) Coleman. Survivors include her children, F. Howard, Jr. (Marilyn) Bush, Harry C. (Louise) Bush and Deborah W. (Joe) Fritsch; grandchildren, Tyree (Eric) Toohey, Alison (Eric) Davis, Takken (Stephanie) Bush, Andrew (Julie) Fritsch, and Joshua Bush; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
