Ferman Harley Helton, 95 of Hulen, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Middlesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Cardinal, Kentucky on June 18, 1926, a son of the late John N. and Laura Hoskins Helton. Ferman was a member of the Pathfork Holiness Church and had been a coal miner and then worked for General Motors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Juanita Howard Helton; and son, Douglas Wade Helton. Ferman is survived by his children and their spouses, Johnny Boyd and Dora Helton, Glen Nolan and Charlotte Helton, Aberia and Tony Kidwell, and Katherine and Larkin Hoskins; daughter-in-law, Lena Helton; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Helton, Berry Helton, Pearl Helton, and John Nolan Helton, Jr.; sisters, Irene Bloomer and Mildred Sharpe; special friend, Arnold “Bugs” Wilder, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Lee and Rev. Danny Helton presiding. Burial will follow at the Upland Cemetery in Hulen with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Helton Family.
