Farmer H. Helton

Farmer H. Helton, 94, of Middlesboro, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born, September 6, 1921, son of Jack Wesley and Bessie Lawson Helton. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna McGeorge Helton; a son, Robinson L. Helton, a brother, Edward G. Helton; sisters, Tishie Asher, Frances Lefevers, Evelyn Rice; nephews, Murlon and Victor Helton, Douglas, Randall and Gary Rice; nieces, Vickie Rice Burke, Nancy Rice Puckett, Bennie Helton, Janice Myers, Debbie Owens, Bessie Tafe, Janice Harris, Linda Lefevers Clark and Debra Lefevers. He was a Graduate of Red Bird Mission School and a Member of The Methodist Church of the Mission. A graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law; a Veteran of the Naval Air Corp during War II for three and half years; served a term in the Kentucky General Assembly; served as Bell County's Commonwealth Attorney and as the County's Circuit Judge. He and his cousin, Frances Eleandor Helton Parsons wrote a book about his family's ancestors and related families and assisted Chris Panetta of New York in establishing a family web-site: heltonfamilyconnections.com. Graveside services will be Monday, October 5, 2015 at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, KY at 10 AM with Rev. Ron Suntken. Pallbearers will be Steve Cawood, Hugh Helton, Eugene Lawson, Harve Couch, Allen Lewis and J.C. Meredith. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 until 8 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Helton family.
