Evelyn Jeanette Littrell Brooks age 87, beloved Mother and Granny, was born April 5, 1928, and went home to a wonderful homecoming with family and friends on June 15, 2015. Evelyn was born in Gibson Station, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charlie and Hattie Littrell. She was saved at an early age and joined Walnut Hill Baptist Church. She later became a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a faithful member for many years. Evelyn worked at Montgomery Ward for several years and was a teacher's aide at Forge Ridge School for 24 years.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Hattie VanBeber Littrell

Husband of 38 years: Delbert Brooks

Brother: William Sewell Littrell

Sisters: Thelma Connor and Sylvia Pendleton

Nephews: Roger Connor and Charles "Sonny" Littrell

She is survived by her daughters:

Rosanne and husband Terry Brooks

Cindy Crockett (Terry Evans)

Valerie Brooks (Jeff Roach)

Grandchildren: Tracy and Glen Longhurst, Barry Brooks, Javan and Beth Crockett and Patrick Brooks.

Sister: Esther Helen Brittain of Villa Rica, Georgia

Sister-in-laws: Evelyn Fultz, Virginia Brooks and Nancy Brooks

Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special friends: Bernice Cook, Phyllis Brooks, Betty Fox and Vernice Brooks

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Reece Funeral Home in Harrogate with funeral to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Lawrence Fultz, Rev. Stewart Fultz, and Rev. Micah Long officiating. Music provided by Amy Pendleton, Rose Kiser and Michael Wilder. Burial will be Friday, June 19, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Steve Nycum, John Fultz, Barry Brooks, Greg Pendleton, John Sharp, John Chadwell, Rick Chadwell and David Redmond.

Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Crockett, Ralph Fultz, David Ellison, Danny Miracle, faculty and staff of Forge Ridge School, Amedisys Home Health Care and Middlesboro Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
