Elsie Jefferson

Elsie Jefferson of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Pineville the daughter of the late George and Georgia Faulkner Pursiful. She retired in 1978 as a Nurses Aid at the Pineville Community Hospital. Elsie was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church where she served on the usher board, as a trustee and as treasurer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Jackie Gilbert and Gwen Herrell, sisters, Anna Ferguson and Sally Pursiful Harris and brothers, Harry (Dink) Pursiful and Robert L. (Buddy) Pursiful. Survivors include her husband, Henry Jefferson, children, James (Hammer) Drake and wife, Sarita; Austin Pursiful; Deborah (Junior) Cornett and husband, Robert; Jennifer Jefferson and Roxanne Darrell; grandchildren, William Rogers, Jr., Jami Alexis Rogers, Angela Rogers, Diran Young, Jahmel Drake, Cameron Drake, Shardy Tally and Michael Tally; great-grandchildren, Xavier Rogers, Ainye Rogers, Nicole Elise Darrell and Jamarah Young; brother, Edward Pursiful and a host of other relatives and friends.
