Elmer Edward Lane

Elmer Edward 'Ed' Lane, 64 of Florence, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was born in Dorton Branch on January 16, 1951 and was a son of the late A. Dennis and Irene Wilson Lane. Ed believed in the Baptist faith and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War earning several awards, including the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He had worked as a technician for AT&T. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jennifer Gibson Lane of Florence; sons, Eddie Lane and girlfriend, Laura Artman of Fort Myers, FL and Kevin Lane and wife, Grazziela of Florence; brother and sisters, John Lane, Rosemary Rose. Hannah and Raymond Browning and Joyce Lane all of Pineville; in-laws, Henry & Tammy Gibson of Pathfork, Lee & Carol Lyons of Pineville, Jerry & Janie Gibson of Harrogate, David & Trish Waller of Augusta, GA, John & Betty Hobbs of Middlesboro and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends Services will be 11:00 AM on Sunday at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Collins and Rev. Joey Lyons. Music will be by Joshua Collins and Sara Beth Collins. Burial will follow in the Peavley Cemetery at Clear Creek with military honors by the Harlan Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Zach Worley, Josh Worley, Larry Lynn Rose, Trevor Gibson, Scott Browning, Jerry Lee and George Wilson.
