Ellene Wilder Hoskins, age 88, of Calvin, Kentucky, took her heavenly flight on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the Mountain View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. She was born in Cubbage on July 18, 1934, to the late Lloyd and Axie Miracle Wilder. Ellene believed in the Holiness Faith and was a member of the Tanyard Hill Pentecostal Church, where she faithfully attended church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Ross Hoskins; sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Billy Don Saylor; her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Della Wilder; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law by marriage; one niece, Kathy Horn; and nephew, Gary Hoskins.
Ellene is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Ross Michael and Pam Hoskins, Rev. Ronnie and Rita Hoskins, and Donald and Karen Hoskins; six grandchildren, Charles and Jenny Hoskins, Lesley and Brian House, Kristie and BJ Guthrie, Dawn Holland, Daniel and Trisha Hoskins, and Bethany and Jeff Lee; great- grandchildren, Samantha, Matthew, and Dalton Sizemore, Haley and Corey Guthrie, Rayawna and Abby Holland, Makaylee, Brodee and Anna Marie Lee and soon to be born Eliza Lee; great-great-grandchildren, Emma, Ella and Jack Collett; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd “Slim” and Wanda Wilder, Jr.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leroy, Card, and Cecil Early, Hobart and Grace Hoskins, Millard and Ruby Hoskins, Jr., Sadie Gibbons, Bobbie Taylor, Betty Saylor, Phyliss Wilder, Darlene and Vern Saylor; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A special thank you to her neighbors, Jeff and Teresa Tingle and James and Lisa Roark for all your help throughout the years, and to Angie Horton and the staff at Mountain View for the excellent care you provided.
Funeral services will be on Monday, November 14, 2022, at 1:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Long and Rev. Richard Asher presiding. Music will be provided by the Tanyard Hill Pentecostal Church, Haley Guthrie, Rayawna Holland, Jerry McKinley Holland, and Monroe Johnson. Burial will follow at the Wilder Cemetery in Calvin. Pallbearers will be Charles Hoskins, Daniel Hoskins, Matthew Sizemore, Dalton Sizemore, BJ Guthrie, Brian House, and Jeff Lee.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Hoskins Family. Light a candle of remembrance and sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com.
