Ellen Ward

Ellen York Ward, 78, a lifetime resident of Arjay, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. She was born in Roth, Kentucky on March 29, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Walter and Virgie Napier York. Ellen was a believer in the Baptist Faith and had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Jr. Ward, son, Douglas Ward and brothers, James Robert, Raymond, John Sherman and Paul York. Survivors include her children, Franklin Ward and wife, Dawn, Kathy Swanner and husband, Michael, Linda Ward, David Ward and wife, Teresa, Rose Ridgeley and husband, Merritt, Judy Sanders and husband, Ott, and Jacqueline Sizemore and husband, Douglas; twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Lucy Carnes and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
