Effie Mae Stamper, 74 of Calvin, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born in High Splint, Kentucky on November 5, 1949, a daughter of the late Albert and Laura Kelly Wilkerson. Effie had been a homemaker and she couldn’t have been a better mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Alvin Stamper; daughters, Lisa Stamper and Yolanda Stamper; and grandchildren, Adrian Hughes and Joe Hughes. Effie is survived by her children, Pauline Hodges and Cornelius Stamper; grandchildren, Donna Hughes, Elizabeth Taulbee, James Taulbee, Michael Taulbee, Lisa Ball, and Patricia Ball; great-grandchildren, Darius Taulbee, Vincent Smith, Teagan Taulbee, J.C. Taulbee, and Fonda Adkins; sister, Barbara Parker; brother, Glen Wilkerson; significant other, Donald Wallace; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ages-Brookside Cemetery in Harlan. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Stamper Family.
