Rev. Claude Edward Baker, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Pineville, KY on March 13, 1925, a son of the late Rev. William H. Baker and Ester Hendrickson Baker. He believed in the Pentecostal Faith and had been the assistant Pastor at the New Ferndale Pentecostal Church. He served in the U.S. Navy in the 1940?s but later retired from the Pineville Community Hospital In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Clyde, Louis, Kenneth and Bill Baker; sisters, Goldie and Kathy Baker; granddaughter, Angela Gaye Hill; daughter-in-law, Cindy Baker. Survivors include his mother, Dora Baker; wife of 57 years, Nannie Neal Baker; daughters, Ann (Tracy) Hill, Lawrenceburg, TN., Brenda (Danny) Harris, Dora (Robert) Shafer of Pineville, KY; sons, Lynn (Kathy) Baker of Kettle Island, KY., Claude Jr. Baker of Middlesboro, KY., James (Francis) Baker of Pineville, KY; twelve grandchildren, Angela (Tim) Peterson of Garden City, Michigan, Ricky (Tracy) Baker, O.B. Riggs, David Baker, Justin Shafer, Becky (Jesse) Sampson, Wayne (Shanna) Baker, Krissy Baker all of Pineville, KY., Justice Baker of Middlesboro, KY., Tracy, Kim and Tammy Hill of Lawrenceburg, TN.; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Ules and Jack Baker; sisters, Joyce (J.C.) Mason, Ann (Pat)Baker, and Mossy Begley ; special friends, Faye Baker, Kim Baker, Dakota Yates and Reva Sampson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
