Edith Lay Beason age 89 of New Tazewell. Born April 6, 1925 Passed away Oct. 18, 2014. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husband Paris (Cotton) Beason. Children; Roy Gene and Geraldine Beason. Parents; Floyd and Sarah Lay. Brothers; Raymer Lay and Harold Lay. Sister-in-laws; Lena and Emma Lay.

Survivors: Sons and daughter-in-laws: Roger & Ginger Beason of Tazewell, TN, Mike & Pat Beason of New Tazewell, Kenny & Tammy Beason of New Tazewell. Daughters and son-in-laws: Debbie & Rick Mathena of Statesville, NC, Barbara & Stacey Smith of Knoxville, Grandchildren: Ralynne Gent & Shane, Jonathan Beason & Jessica, Casie, Nathan, Jason, Brandon and Bradley Beason, Tim Smith and Lauren Mathena. Great grandchildren: Elijah and Emma Beason, Noah, Sarah and Rachel Gent, Ethan Smith and Lily Stone and Harper Rae Beason. Step grandchildren: Ricky, David and Paul Mathena. Step great grandchildren: Stephen, Tyler, Drew & Reagan Mathena. Brothers: Delano Lay of Kokomo, IN, , H.C. & Libby Lay of Tazewell, Sisters and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth (Tootsie) and Paul Johnson of Kokomo, IN, Wanda & Bruce Williams of Maynardville,and sister-in-law Carlene Lay of Sharps Chapel.
