Earnie Carnes, 75, of Pineville, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Arjay, KY on June 8, 1938 a son of the late Walter and Minnie Jones Carnes. His deceased sisters are Cora Warren and Judy Smith and deceased brothers, Ben Carnes, Carl Carnes, Lonnie Carnes, Donnie Carnes, Doyle Carnes, and P.L. Carnes. . He was a heavy equipment operator and helped his son with construction work. He believed in the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed singing and playing gospel music. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Charlene Carnes; children, Charlotte (Frank) Saylor, Michael (Karen) Carnes and Rosemary (Mark) Reeder. Two very special nieces that he loved like daughters, Shirley Dobbs and Tammy Reeder; grandchildren include, Ashley Jackson, Brooke Abner, Tasha Saylor, Tabitha Asher, Michael Saylor and April Charlene Reeder; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Dalton Abner, Jada and Wesley Jackson, Kaidyn and Easton Michael Saylor; Leslie, Leah and Rachel Asher; sisters, Carolyn Hubbard, Freda Pursiful, Wanda Neal , Mary Warren and Ruby Downy; brothers, Kenneth and Hayes Carnes; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to say a special thank you to his cousin, Yvonne Hodge. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ronald Canada and Rev. Michael Saylor. Burial will be in the Carnes Family Cemetery in Pineville. Pallbearers will be his nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9 AM until 9 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Carnes Family.
