Doylene Brummett, 55 of Artemus, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Pineville on August 30, 1965, a daughter of the late Andrew and Ollie Brown Smith. Doylene was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith and had been a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for 30 years at the Pineville Community Health Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Gladys Rabys, Viola Taylor, , and Louise Poplin; and brothers, Clyde Smith and Sloan Tollis. Doylene is survived by her husband of 37 years, Millard Brummett; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon Scott and Darlene Brummett; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Nicole and Josh Mills; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Mills, Kelsey Brummett, Gabriel Mills, Canaan Brummett, and Samuel Brummett; sister, Virginia Saylor; brother, Bill Smith; special friends, Lisa Jones and Stacy Jones; and a host of dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church with Rev. Randall Beverly, Rev. Phillip Jackson, and Rev. Nathan Bedford presiding. Burial will follow next to the Brummett Home on York Hollow Road in Artemus with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 6:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church.
