Doyle Ray

Doyle Ray, 77, of Tazewell, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. He was born on June 15, 1949, in the Cloud Switch Community of Claiborne County, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Billy Boston and Eula Gray- Ray. Doyle loved doing farm work and tending to various farming activities.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Ann McDonald; sister, Geneve Ray; and brother, Tony Ray.

Survivors include his children, Eric McDonald and wife Wilma, Barbara Ray and fiancé, Greg Goins; grandchildren, Isaiah McDonald, Devon Dillman, Jimmy Featherstone, Elijah McDonald, Aaron Carbone and AnnaBella McDonald; great-grandchild, Jovi Faith; his longtime confidant, Patricia McDonald; sisters, Jeanette Ray, Lynda Hensley, Marlene Ray, Tammy Parkey, Patsy Stansbury, Geraldine Ray and Chris Ray; brothers, Tim Ray, David Ray and Randy Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 1PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel, in Harrogate, Tennessee, with Bro. Bill Roberts officiating.

The Family will receive friends from 11AM until time of services.

Burial will follow in the Shoemaker Cemetery in the Cloud Community of Tazewell, Tennessee.

Eric McDonald, Isaiah McDonald, Elijah McDonald, Devon Dillman, Greg Goins, Luke Ray, Jimmy Featherstone and Gary Ray to serve as pallbearers.
