Dorothy Saylor Brock

Dorothy Saylor Brock, 95 of Beverly, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at her home. She was born in Beverly on April 4, 1931, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ida Knuckles Saylor. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church and had been a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Brock; daughters, Carolyn Sue Mayes and Penny Elaine Brock; son-in-law, John Eddie Philpot; daughters-in-law, Barbara Brock, Sandra Brock, and Rhonda Lovan; and brothers and sisters, Elsie Reese Shafer, Clyde Saylor, Oliver Saylor, Charles Saylor, JB Saylor, RD Saylor, Earl Saylor, Arthur Saylor, Arnold “Doc” Saylor, Roy Saylor, and Chesney Saylor.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, JoAnn Philpot of Pineville; sons, Lloyd Brock of Flat Lick, Freddy Brock of Manchester, Ronnie and Loretta Brock of Beverly, and Charles Brock of Beverly; grandchildren, Julia Phiplot Roberts and Scott England, Misty and John Beverly Baker, Larry David and Melissa Beverly, Michael and Chasity Brock, David and Cecil Brock, Sammie Costello, Geno Costello, Constance Brown, Lloyd David Brock, Travis and Destanie Lovan, Crystal Alsip, Harold and Chelsea Brown, Clay Smith, Wesley and Tasha Smith, Rebecca Brock, Davie and Tamara Brock, Jesse Brock, Tracie and Tyler Vaughn, Willie Vaugn, Tommy Vaughn, and Kenny Vaughn; great-grandchildren, Madison and Tanner Lawson, Sean Brock, Jarrod Roberts, Ross Baker, Zach Bargo, Blake Bargo, Shyann and Virgil Bargo, Emily Brock, Melody Brock, Layla Brock, Ezekiel Brock, Kaitlyn Costello, Kayla Costello, Skylar Kennedy, Addison Kennedy, Elayna Levan, Waylon Levan, Grace Levan, Gabriel Brock, Halia Brock, Haylee Beverly, Jayden and Quinton Sizemore, Nevaeh Smith, Daltin Alsip, Maci Alsip, and Dylan Alsip; great-great-grandchildren, Karter Leddington, Harper Jo Lawson, and Cooper Mederos; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
