Dorothy May Asher Jarvis

Dorothy May Asher Jarvis, age 91, resident of Cumberland Gap since 1957 went home to be with the Lord Jan. 20, 2017. She was born Aug. 28, 1925. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cumberland Gap and a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star of Shawanee.

Preceded in death by parents- James & Mellie Asher, husband- William (Bill) Jarvis, brothers: John, James Jr. & T.J. Asher.

Survived by sons- Verlis (& Carolyn Sue) Jarvis, and Rodney (& Doris) Jarvis; grandchildren: Rick (& Holly) Jarvis, Suzanne Jarvis, Amy (& Wayne) Dawson; great grandchildren: Olivia & Rexton Jarvis, Nicholas & Emily Dawson, siblings: sister- Vestina Saylor, Marie Asher Depriest & brother Daniel Asher; sister-in-laws: Pearl Asher, Maxine Asher, & Mitzi Gibson Asher and a host of nieces, nephews, & friends. Funeral service will be 8 PM Monday, January 23, 2017 at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel with Rev. Richard Minton officiating. Music provided by Mike & Audrey Rowland and Norma Cox. Visitation 6-8. Burial will be 11AM Tuesday in the Asher Family Cemetery.
