Doris Gibson Simpson, 80, passed away on Saturday 31, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Little Clear Creek on March 23,1944, a daughter of the late Rayfield and Sarah Jane Daniel Gibson. Doris was saved as a little girl and was a lifelong faithful member of Salem #2 Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Willie Gibson and Ronnie Gibson; brothers-in-law, Roger (Jeanetta) Simpson, Ross Napier and Billy Baham.
Doris is survived by her husband of 55 years, Kirby Simpson; daughters, Bridgett (Bobby) Messer and Amy Philpot; grandchildren, Carrie (Justin) Fuson, Ricky (Autumn) Pletcher, Jacklyn (Justice) Bishop, Tyler (Brooke) Potter, Brandon (Knesia) Pletcher and Faith Potter; great-grandchildren, Bentley Pletcher, Cali Pletcher, Lucas Pletcher, Samuel Pletcher, Scarlett Rose, Karsyn Fuson, Kinlyn Fuson, Novaliegh Bishop, Emerlynnn Bishop, and Charlie Potter; brothers and sisters, Bill (Kelly) Gibson, Iva Stewart. Jerlis Napier, and Teresa (Leaman) Saylor and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Salem #2 Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Alan Mason and Rev. David Fuson. The burial will be in the Gibson Cemetery at Little Clear Creek. Pallbearers will be Justin Fuson, Ricky Pletcher, Brandon Pletcher, Hunter Clark, Tyler Potter and Justice Bishop.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 4,2024, beginning at 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett and Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville.
