Doris Dean Adkins

Doris Dean Lasley Adkins, 90 formerly of Bell County, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Park West Medical Center, Knoxville. She was born in Kettle Island on July 13, 1928 a daughter of the late Frank and Sudie Elliot Lasley. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pineville, where she served in many positions in the church and served as WMU Director for Bell County. Doris is a former President of the Bell County Homemakers Club. While being a member of Whitesburg Baptist Church, Doris delivered meals and visited with people who needed assistance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Adkins and brothers, Frank Lasley, Jr. and Terry Lasley. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Judy Adkins; grandsons, Todd Adkins and wife, Kristen and Brian Adkins; great-grandchildren, Calon Akins, Henley Adkins and Cayden Adkins; sisters, Alma Louise Brock and husband, George and Frances Sue Dyer and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday at Pineville Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Bruce Walzer. Music will be by Mickey Wilder. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Adkins, Brian Adkins, George Brock, Michael Milner and Henry Welch.
