Donna Lee Turner Pique

Donna Lee Turner Pique, Crick as she was known to friends and family, age 83, went on to be with our Lord July 22, 2020 due to a long illness while being attended by familiar staff members who cared very well for her at Beverly Park Place Health and Rehab in Knoxville, TN and being cared for by wonderful Amedisys Hospice team led by Shelley Stooksbury, RN.

She was born October 23, 1936 in Sunbright, TN to Hugh and Reba Turner. She was married and had one Son, Anthony Edward Pique to whom she was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She worked and retired from South Central Bell in 1991. Donna loved to love on people. She was a member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN where she loved her fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 – “And be ye kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Donna loved living in Fountain City, TN a very special place that was near and dear to her heart. She enjoyed many friends, with best longtime friend, Barbara Brock where she enjoyed many meals, tears and painted treasures together. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Reba Turner, brother n law, Kelly D. Taylor II,  brother n law Buford L. Shiflet, sister Betty J. Shiflet, and Cousin Blanche Welch.

Donna is survived by her sister, Linda S. Turner Taylor, her son Anthony Edward Pique and wife, M. Lynn Pique and their children Pamela Miracle and Michelle and Cody McDaniel, five grandchildren: Kayliegh Madison Miracle, Oliver Randall Fultz, Lynnlee Brie McDaniel, Lawton James McDaniel and Lainey Jean McDaniel, and Nephew Bob Shiflet and wife Kathy (KY), Niece Renee Shiflet, Nephew Kelly Taylor III and wife Tammy (MT), Niece Tonya and husband Mike Alsup(VA), Niece Shannon and husband Rob Haynes (VA) , Niece Ketasha and husband John Goodwin, and Niece Lindse and husband Dale Gilbert (VA). Great-Nephews Wesley and Warren Shiflet (KY), Great nephew KD Taylor IV (MT), Great Niece Lauren and her Daughters Aeva and Nora (MT), Great Niece Ellen Taylor (VA), Great Nephew Taylor Alsup (VA), Great Niece Claudia Alsup (VA), Great Nephew Nathan Haynes (VA), Great Nephew Caleb Haynes (VA), Great Niece Hannah Haynes (VA), Great Nephew Graham Goodwin, Great Niece Gracen Goodwin, Great Niece Gretchen Goodwin, Great Niece Sophie Gilbert (VA), and Great Nephew Franklin Gilbert (VA). All of these she loved and cared for deeply.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with funeral services to follow at 7:00pm in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel, 6340 Cumberland Gap Pkwy., Harrogate, TN with Pastor Rob Haynes of First Baptist Church, Jonesville, VA officiating.

Graveside Services will be conducted 11:00am Monday, July 27, 2020 in the Blue Springs Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Sharps Chapel, TN. Pallbearers; Nephew Mike Alsup, Nephew Dale Gilbert, Nephew John Goodwin, Nephew Rob Haynes, Nephew Bob Shiflet, Great Nephew Wesley Shiflet.
