Donald Lawson

Donald Lawson, 84, of New Tazewell, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at his home. He was born in Arjay, KY on March 30, 1933 a son of the late Squire and Nancy Gambrel Lawson. He was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church and had been a coal miner and had worked in construction. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gambrel Lawson, son, Scott Lawson; brothers and sisters, George Lawson, Jay Lawson, Elmer Lawson, Dewey Lawson, Ramen Lawson, Daisy Brock, Deanna Lowe, Reccie Cinnamon, Madelynn Hampton and Thelma Dean. Survivors include his children, Vivian and Glen Gambrel, Virgil and Jean Lawson, Donna Cox and Steve Lawson; grandchildren, Brandon William Cox, Megan Marie Gambrel, Sean Michael Cox, Cody Scott Gambrel and Briana Noel Lawson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. James Polly and Rev. Wilkie Saylor. Music will be by Theda Polly and the Church family. Burial will be in the Jenson Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 9 :00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Lawson Family.
