Donald Wayne Jackson, 74 of Laurel Hill, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. He was born in Laurel Hill on February 1, 1948, a son of the late Gillus and Roszina Simpson Jackson. Donald loved farming and had completed his apprenticeship to become a Brick Mason. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene Jackson, George Jackson, Gillus Jackson, Jr., John Henry Jackson, Earl Jackson, Claiborne Jackson, and Marlene Partin; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Jackson. Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Boatright Jackson; children, Donna Jackson and Scott Browning, Donald Wayne Jackson, Jr., Aaron Jackson and Nikka Allen, Candace Jackson, and Adam Jackson; grandchildren, Rodney Miracle and Brittany McGregor, Joseph Jackson, Sierra Browning, Shonna Browning, Jaithon Jackson, and Dawson Griffin; great granddaughter, Bailee Miracle; sister, Alene Osborne; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at the Powell Valley Association Building on Laurel Hill with Elder Mickey Jackson, Elder Rick Dorton, and Elder Randall Miracle presiding. Burial will follow at the Donald Jackson Family Cemetery in Pineville. Pallbearers will be Keith Osborne, Kevin Osborne, Kyle Osborne, Tim Edmondson, Clyde Jackson, Steve Jackson, Zachary Jackson, Anthony Jackson, John Allen Jackson, David E. Jackson, Robert Mason, John Osborne, Melvin Jackson, Kendel Osborne, Daniel Osborne, Derrick Jackson, Tyler Jackson, Bobby Partin, Shawn Partin, James Jackson, Mike Jackson, and Doug Jackson. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 PM until the funeral hour on Friday at the Powell Valley Association Building on Laurel Hill.
