Dewey Saylor

Dewey Saylor, 66, of Arjay, KY passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY surrounded by his loving family. Dewey was born on July 17, 1950 in Pineville, KY the son of the late Grant and Rose Taylor Saylor. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Dill Brock, Levi Brock, Lester Saylor, and Marion Saylor; nephews, Billy Bingham, James Brock, Donny Brock and Alan Saylor; sisters-in-law, Louise Poplin, Gladys Raby, Viola Taylor; brothers-in-law, Clyde Smith and Suclone Tolis. Dewey was a devout Christian man who served well in his church, the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church where he was willing to give a helping hand in any way. He was also a man of fine standing in his community. As well as serving his Lord, Dewey enjoyed taking his grandsons on trips and involving himself in many activities with them, always setting a fine example for them. He gave them many memories to cherish. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Virginia Smith Saylor, son, Jeff Saylor, daughter, Amy (Brian) Bays; grandsons, Carson Bays and Cameron Bays, who were the apples of his eye; sisters, Eva Whitehead and Carolyn Wagner, both of Crescent City, Fl; brother, Ernest (Charlene) Saylor of Clay, MI; two aunts, Eva Sizemore and Nannie Baker, Uncle, Jimmy Neal and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by all. Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church with Rev. Randall Beverly and Rev. Gary Wagner. Music will be by the Arjay Church Singers and Julie Wagner. Interment will be in the Saylor Family Cemetery at Brock Hollow following the service. Pallbearers will be Nick Brummett, Steve Lewis, Lance Jones, John Golden, Chris Lewis and Cheyenne Kindle. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 9 PM and Friday during the day until 9:00 PM at the Arjay Community Pentecostal Church.
