Dennis Wayne Brooks

Dennis Wayne Brooks, 78, of Harrogate passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was born on December 8, 1947 in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Dale Walter and Elma Cleo Crumley Brooks. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Sargent. Upon his completion of duties for the Air Force, he returned home where he eventually went to work driving for Greyhound Bus Lines, a job he loved, traveling all across the country taking his passengers to where they needed to be. He retired from Greyhound in 2003, and spent his time listening to and enjoying country music and attending any tractor shows he could find.

Dennis is survived by his sister, Janet Lou Darby and her husband, Ted Alan; his niece, Alaina Brooks Darby; and a host of other family and many friends.

Private United States Air Force Funeral Honors will be held at the Jones Cemetery in Ewing, Virginia. The family will be hosting a memorial service for Dennis at a time to be announced later.
