Delphine Wells

Delphine Taylor Wells, 88 of Barbourville, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was born in Dorton Branch on August 8, 1934, a daughter of the late William Garrett and Betty Emery Taylor. Delphine had been a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brady Wells; daughter, Janice Wells; and brothers and sisters, Raba Baker, Frederick Taylor, Virginia Wallen, Charles Taylor, Stacy Taylor, Jeanette Lawson-Flint, Elmer Taylor, Marie Patterson, Violet Brock, Alva Lee Taylor, and Bertha Taylor.

Delphine is survived by her daughter, Doris Callihan; grandson, Alton Jerry Callihan and wife, Deanna; great-grandchildren, Morgan Callihan and Logan Callihan; brothers, Clifford Taylor and Clarence Taylor; very good friend, Goldie Spencer; cousin, Nadine Merida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Collett presiding. Music will be provided by Carolyn Scott. Burial will follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
