Della Marie Parker

Della Marie Parker age 90, of Gibson Station, Virginia went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2015 at her daughters home in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. She loved God and her family and all of that love radiated to all around her. Della had a sense of humor and was known to be quiet sharp and witty. She was very strong willed and loved working around her home and yard in Gibson Station. She was loved by all and happiest spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lizzie Barnes; beloved husband John J. Parker; son, Bill Parker; brothers Calvin Barnes and Woodrow Barnes and sisters, Cornie Bailey, Janie McAfee, Jessie Warf, Cassie Fyre and Virginia Barnes.

She is survived by her daughter Ella (Raymond) Evans of Knoxville, Tennessee; daughter-in-law Sue Parker; grandchildren Carmen Nicole (Robbie) Cox, Amanda Parker and John Parker; great grandchildren, Lexi Price and Autumn Cox; brothers Hubert, Hoye, Bradley, and Robert Barnes and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at Reece Funeral Home on December 18 between 5 and 7 P.M. with funeral to follow with Rev. Jackie Thacker officiating. Burial will be at Elydale Cemetery in Ewing, Virginia at 11 A.M. on December 19.
