David Lee Nichols

David Lee “Pickles” “Chrome” Nichols, 57 of Corbin, passed away on April 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pineville on April 22, 1965, the son of Ewing Nichols and Bobbie Jean Warren Manes. David served in the United States Army and in the Reserves for 24 years, worked as a Coal Miner for 8 years, and was a Truck Driver for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ewing Nichols; grandparents, Gillis and Amanda Warren; uncle, Frank Warren; and dearly beloved aunts, Dottie K. Warren and Susie Napier.

David is survived by his wife of 3 years, Jennifer Hood Nichols; daughters, Jennifer E. Nichols and Levi Barton, Liberty N. Nichols, and Tabitha A. Nichols; sons, Josh Gambrel and Brandon R. Tate; bonus daughter, Alicia D. Hill and husband, Robert; bonus son, Raymond “RJ” Jackson; grandchildren, Kyra Justice, Hagan Barton, and Lillian Barton; bonus grandchild, Killion Hill; mother, Bobbie Jean Warren Manes; stepfather, Randy Manes; aunt and uncle, Roy L. Warren and wife, Melissa and their daughter, Billie D. Warren; beloved aunt, Geraldine Warren; life long friend, Chris Christian; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Brother Raymond Hood and Mr. David Griffith presiding. Music provided by Joy L. Fields. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Gray. Pallbearers will be Levi Barton, Chris Christian, R.J. Jackson, David “Oie” Griffith, Taylor Sizemore, and Robert Hill. Honorary Pallbearers are the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Lexington and the Bluegrass Care Navigators.
